Roots: A Legacy That Changed the World
In 1996, the Brazilian band Sepultura released the album Roots, which became one of the most significant and daring experiments in the history of heavy music. This release not only cemented the band's status as global leaders of metal but also opened a new direction, fusing aggressive thrash metal with the primal energy of ethnic rhythms.

The album's core concept revolved around a return to roots. The musicians traveled deep into the Amazon jungle to record tracks with the Xavante Indian tribe. This collaboration gave the world compositions like "Itsári," in which ritual chants and indigenous drums become an integral part of the metal fabric.

Thirty years later, Sepultura's ideas find new resonance in the project "ROOTS: A Tribute from Central Asian Tribe." Central Asian rock bands from Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, and Kyrgyzstan have united to present their interpretations of legendary material. This project transforms the original's tribal aesthetic, incorporating the flavor of our region. Bands from cities such as Almaty, Bishkek, Astana, Petropavlovsk, and Karaganda have created their own arrangements of classic tracks.

A New Chapter in History: The official release of the tribute is scheduled for September 2026 via Kraft Music. In addition to worldwide digital distribution, the project will be released on limited-edition vinyl, emphasizing its collectible and historical value for the region's rock culture.

The project's visual style combines Sepultura's recognizable imagery with Central Asian ethnicity, creating the image of a modern "steppe tribe" true to its musical roots.
